However, accidents can happen. As unlikely as it seems unforeseen occurrences such as mishandling at the ports, traffic accidents or even vessel loss or other damage can happen. The need for Transit Insurance is paramount, because even with the greatest care and attention, damage or loss to a shipment may occur.
Our standard “All –Risk” Insurance Policy includes coverage for:
- All modes of transport from the origin address to the destination address
- Storage at the origin for 90 days
- Or Storage at the destination for 90 days
There are additional insurance extensions available such as:
- Extended Storage Coverage – Protection for the shipment if it is stored in excess of 30 days at the origin or destination.
- Pairs & Sets Coverage – Protection that provides for the replacement of an entire set when only part of the set is damaged.
- Electrical & Mechanical Derangement Coverage – Protection against problems with the internal workings of electrical items.
- Mould & Mildew Coverage – Protection against damage caused by humidity & moisture.
Before your packing date, you need to:
- Read the Insurance Policy’s Terms and Conditions very carefully.
- Decide between an “itemized” vs. a “lump sum” option for valuing your shipment.
- Make a valued inventory list based on full replacement cost at destination.
- Photograph and make a separate inventory of your high-value items.
- Complete your application before your move day to ensure that coverage is in effect when services begin.

currency, watches, coins and stamp collections
or any negotiable instruments.
