FORWARDING
SEA SHIPMENTS
- The primary means of transport for most shipments.
- Generally the least expensive way to send International Shipments.
- Can be sent in a private container as an FCL (Full Container Load) or in a shared container as an LCL(Less Than Container Load)
- FCL (Full Container Load)
- Normally utilize 20’ and 40’ steel containers and sometimes they are even sent in 40’ high cube or 45’ containers.
- Can either be loose loaded item by item or they can be first loaded into wooden liftvans (discussed further below) & the liftvans loaded into the containers.
- LCL (Less Than Container Load)
- Are loaded in liftvans discussed further below for better protection.
- Lift Van Method
- Liftvans are large sturdy wooden boxes built & designed specifically for international transit.
- Items are loaded into the liftvans & the liftvans are loaded directly into containers.
- Perfect if storage at origin or destination is required.
- Excellent for those with less than a full container of items.
AIR SHIPMENTS
- All items are loaded into approved air containers for safe transport.
- This is the quickest way to route your shipment.
- It is generally more expensive then sending it by sea.
- Can sometimes offer a better value for smaller shipments.
